A walk is returning for the 2026 Fox Trot. For this first year, it will be 2k and not timed, but a free T-shirt, post-race beverages, and a bib to signify your participation will be included.

The cost is $20 per walker OR $15 each for four or more team. As with any distance, you will have an opportunity to further contribute to one of the 10 non-profits of your choice, see the Beneficiaries page.

Any youths age 19 and under can register for ONLY $20!

This is the Elgin Valley Fox Trot's way of encouraging new young runners.  Since the event is after the school year, any athletes may register.

Also, there is a competitive "traveling" trophy named "The Fox" for the area high school with the highest number of competitors!

  Start/Finish Area  Just north of the Elgin Gail Borden Library at Grove and Kimball Street. The race route heads through Elgin’s north end neighborhoods toward Dundee and returns downhill on Grove.  Please, no four-legged friends on the race course! 

    Packets for pre-registered runners will be available for pickup on Friday, May 29 from 4 to 8 PM and on Saturday, May 30 from Noon – 5 PM, both within the Art Room of the Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way in downtown Elgin (enter through the Heritage Ballroom entrance) and on Race Day at the start/finish area. 

  Race timing will remain the same.

Runner tracking is available for the 10-mile race.  After the race, scan the QR Code on your bib for individual results.

 There will be photographers at various points along the course taking.  These FREE images will be located within the Results page. 

  Overall event awards and 5-year age group awards for the 10-Mile and 5K races will be presented at the post race party immediately after the race. 19 and under awards follow the USATF age breakdowns.

  A free t-shirt emblazoned with the race logo above will be provided in men’s and women’s sizes, XS, S, M, L, XL & 2X. Limited supplies, register ASAP!

    Fresh fruit, bagels, and water will be available following the race.  Under age 21 runners will enjoy a free treat!

Food Trucks to be announced.

Gear check will be available at the Packet Pickup area, there is a detachable tag at the bottom of the race bib.

     Enjoy a free cold beer for each of age runner and more for purchase, under-21 will receive a special treat, cheer on the award winners, and celebrate your accomplishment at the post race party which will be held at the start/finish area immediately following the race.

  Convenient, free parking is available in the northeast section of the Borden Library at 270 North Grove Avenue as well as in the public municipal Parking Lots and decks within short walking distance to the start / finish area.

Regresa la caminata para el Fox Trot 2026. Este primer año, será de 2 km sin cronometraje, pero se incluirá una camiseta, bebidas después de la carrera y un dorsal como prueba de tu participación.

Zona de salida/meta: Justo al norte de la Biblioteca Gail Borden de Elgin, en Grove y Kimball Street. La ruta de la carrera atraviesa los barrios del norte de Elgin hacia Dundee y regresa cuesta abajo por Grove. ¡Por favor, no se permiten mascotas en el circuito!

Los paquetes para los corredores preinscritos estarán disponibles para ser recogidos el viernes 29 de mayo de 4 a 8 p.m. y el sábado 30 de mayo de mediodía a 5 p.m., ambos en la Sala de Arte del Centro de Elgin, 100 Symphony Way en el centro de Elgin (ingrese por la entrada Heritage Ballroom) y el día de la carrera en el área de salida/llegada. 

El cronometraje de la carrera se mantendrá igual.

El seguimiento de los corredores está disponible para la carrera de 10 millas. Después de la carrera, escanea el código QR de tu dorsal para ver los resultados individuales.

Habrá fotógrafos en varios puntos del recorrido. Estas imágenes gratuitas se encontrarán en la página de Resultados.

Los premios generales del evento y los premios del grupo de edad de 5 años para las carreras de 10 millas y 5 km se entregarán en la fiesta posterior a la carrera inmediatamente después de la carrera. Los premios para los menores de 19 años siguen el desglose por edad de la USATF.

Se entregará una camiseta gratuita con el logo de la carrera (ver arriba) en tallas XS, S, M, L, XL y 2X para hombre y mujer. ¡Disponibilidad limitada! ¡Inscríbete cuanto antes!

    Después de la carrera, habrá fruta fresca, bagels y agua. ¡Los corredores menores de 21 años disfrutarán de un obsequio!

Los food trucks se anunciarán próximamente.

El servicio de guardaequipaje estará disponible en la zona de recogida de paquetes. Hay una etiqueta desprendible en la parte inferior del dorsal.

    Disfrute de una cerveza fría gratis para cada corredor mayor de edad y más para comprar, los menores de 21 años recibirán un obsequio especial, animarán a los ganadores de premios y celebrarán su logro en la fiesta posterior a la carrera que se llevará a cabo en el área de inicio/llegada inmediatamente después de la carrera.

Hay estacionamiento conveniente y gratuito disponible en la sección noreste de la Biblioteca Borden en 270 North Grove Avenue, así como en los estacionamientos y terrazas municipales públicos a poca distancia a pie del área de inicio/llegada.
