new for 2026: the 2k walk
ALL COURSES START & END JUST NORTH OF THE BORDEN LIBRARY
The new 2K Walk is an out and back on the beautiful Fox River Trail. This section of the trail is mostly shaded.
A walk is returning for the 2026 Fox Trot. For this first year, it will be 2k and not timed, but a free T-shirt, post-race beverages, and a bib to signify your participation will be included.
The cost is $20 per walker OR $15 each for four or more team. As with any distance, you will have an opportunity to further contribute to one of the 10 non-profits of your choice, see the Beneficiaries page.

A book is available for purchase regarding the Valley Fox Trot that was founded in 1978. The publication includes many photos, details, and interviews over the years of running 10-miles in Elgin. Our History
The Valley Fox Trot was founded in 1978 by Dr. David Bruce with the Elgin Life Underwriters as the sponsor and medical personnel from throughout the local community lending their expertise and assistance. The shirts in the photo, courtesy of Dr. Bruce, are of the original logo design for the event.
