remembering rhonda

Rhonda Erlandsen Brandes was one of the founding members of the Kenyon Farm Runners and a dear friend and running colleague to all who knew her. The running awards are dedicated to her, and the photo above helps keep her memory and her enthusiasm for the Elgin Valley Fox Trot alive. Rhonda’s dedication to running remains unmatched among the Kenyons. In 2024, she completed her quest to run a marathon on every continent.

May God bless and remember Rhonda Erlandsen Brandes. September 20, 1953-March 19, 2026.

Rhonda brandes MEMORIAL RACE AWARDS AND POLICY

Awards will be presented to the top three overall finishers in each race of the Elgin Valley Fox Trot; however, in line with amateur competition rules, participants under the age of 19 are not eligible to receive individual monetary prizes. If a runner under 19 finishes in the top three overall, their award will instead be granted to their affiliated running group, club, or school as specified during registration. This policy upholds amateur eligibility standards while still honoring exceptional performances by younger athletes.
