memorial RACE AWARDS AND POLICY

Jim Kline, a 1979 Elgin High School graduate, graciously bequeathed funds to support the Elgin Valley Fox Trot. These donations are instrumental in funding the race awards for 2026. We are deeply indebted to his sister, Katrina Kline, for ensuring this generous gift was fulfilled. Jim was a talented runner who achieved an impressive 14th place in the 1978 Fox Trot, competing against roughly 1,200 participants in the 10-mile race.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall finishers in each race of the Elgin Valley Fox Trot; however, in line with amateur competition rules, participants under the age of 19 are not eligible to receive individual monetary prizes. If a runner under 19 finishes in the top three overall, their award will instead be granted to their affiliated running group, club, or school as specified during registration. Second Place: $100

Third Place: $50

PREMIOS Y POLÍTICA DE LA CARRERA CONMEMORATIVA

Jim Kline, graduado de la escuela secundaria Elgin en 1979, donó generosamente fondos al Elgin Valley Fox Trot.
